Group conflict

Peterson, R S (2015) Group conflict. In: Encyclopedia of interpersonal communication. Wiley, Hoboken, NJ. ISBN 9781118540190

Abstract

The study of conflict in groups is well established. The classic perspective differentiates between task and relationship conflict. More recent work has identified a variety of other types of conflict, including process and status conflict. Emerging perspectives in group conflict include an emphasis on conflict asymmetry (i.e., differing perceptions of conflict in the same group) and conflict expression.
