Abstract

The article discusses the benefits of business leaders extending their influence both upward and horizontally through the organizational structure. It cites organization theory in explaining why such management styles benefit both the company and the individual leader's career development. The article goes on to cover why senior executives should mobilize their bosses and functional colleagues.
